A Trip to the Big Smoke

Yesterday, we decided to go and buy my sister her birthday present and make a bit of a trip of it. It has been ages, like AGES since we went out anywhere (other than sodding Tesco!). So we dressed our little charges and bundled them into the car for our fun filled trip.

PANIC!

I am linking up for another wonderful Wednesdays Words with the Birthday Girl, Emma from Crazy With Twins Please hop on over and wish the lovely lady a Happy Birthday!

Where Has My Baby Gone?

I'm feeling a bit emotional today. My husband has gone to work so I'm home alone with nothing but Haribo and the tele for company. It has been pretty much a normal Saturday really, until we went into town.

Sleep Little Squishy

When it comes to child rearing I don't have any hard and fast rules, other than consistency. All kids are different and my three are no exception. Things work for one and not for the others. Big can be told to do something, Chaos has to be persuaded (or bribed) and Squish will do anything as long as you're coming too!

Me Time

Why do I do it? Is it lack of will power? A desire to wear myself out completely? A knackered sleep pattern? Why on earth would any sane person stay up until the early hours knowing full well their youngest will then wake up intermittently until 6.30am. Utter madness!

A Blog Shop for Unicef

I was thinking of other ways to raise money for Unicef. I would really like to link it through my blog and Twitter as I have an increasing number of followers these days. (Thank you all!) I don't want to be repetitive and keep plugging the same thing, it gets boring after a while, I know. I have come up with an idea that may just be a good'un so I would love to hear what you think and if you would like to get involved.

First Day of Training

Today, I decided to go for a test run. Yes, a test run. The first time out running in my trainers. Also I have been having a pain in the heel of my foot for the last week, which has a very similar description to Plantar Fasciitis. I wanted to know how it would feel as sometimes just standing is painful.

Unicef Fundraising Update

UNICEF UK

I just thought I would give you a quick update to how my fund raising is going.
So far I have raised £35 through online and text donations.
I know this doesn't sound like much, to be honest it isn't.
But, this is enough to have helped one child be born and nearly 50 children vaccinated against measles.

I hope that goes to show that every pound DOES make a difference.
When you are living on so little, it doesn't take much to make a huge change.

I would urge you, with this in mind, to donate a little to Unicef.
For £11.50 we can vaccinate 100 children against Polio
Polio vaccines to protect 100 children
For £13.50 we can buy a carrier to keep the vaccines chilled and effective
Vaccine carrier to keep vaccines effective
For £11.00 we can buy this little angel some more high energy biscuits.

You see, even if you only give a pound you can make all the difference!

You can donate by texting  KPFC77 £(amount) to 70070
or visit my Just Giving page
Thank you

(Heart) My Art

Hopeful world run online classes to encourage personal growth while the revenue from them goes towards helping others fulfill their potential. This sentence best describes them for me.
We established Hopeful World with the hope that together we would learn the magic of the “we” by healing the places in our “I” where we resist the kind of humility and gentleness required for a new world.
How can you resist such a beautiful goal?

What A Day In So Many Ways

Wow, yesterday, what a day! Several important things happened, mostly good I'm happy to say. It was one of those days you know will stick in your mind for a while.

Happy Birthday Granny

Today was my Grannys birthday. She would have been 98 years old today. Can you imagine being born in 1915 and seeing all that she has seen? It totally floors me when I think about it.

She's an amazing lady and although I didn't celebrate today in any great way, I was thinking of her all day. To make the day stand out a little more I thought I would take photos of all the things we did today and share them with you. I hope she had a great day with my Grandad at last.

Pimp My Hoover

Yes, hoovering. I am going to write a post about bloody hoovering! Since when did this become such a trying task. Of all the housework, hoovering has to be the one I dislike least. Compared to, say, washing up. I HATE washing up. Probably because it has to be done once daily at least.

GoodWork

I so admire these fabulous ladies (I am also a little envious if I'm honest!). They are working their arses off to bring us more information about the projects being supported by Comic Relief. I have no doubt that it will be a life changing trip for them. They will see things that will pull at their hearts like never before. They will also feel the immense pride that the people of Africa have. They may have very little but they appreciate everything that is done to help them. They don't want charity. They want the chance to support themselves and with all the #GoodWork, that is exactly what they are doing.

Keep Them Close

"Keep them close, Kathryn." These are some of the best words of advice my mother has given me. Having read tonight about a family suddenly losing it's youngest member, it has reminded me and many other parents not to take any of these precious moments for granted.
I learnt a valuable lesson very recently, when my Granny passed away. I kept saying to myself "I must pop in and see her tomorrow." I didn't pop in nearly as much as I wanted to but I always thought I could do it tomorrow. Sadly, my Granny ran out of tomorrows before I got to see her. I wont make that mistake again, definitely not with my beautiful boys. So, if nothing else, keep them close.
