Gift Exchange Etiquette

I signed up to be part of the Fat Mum Slim Gift Exchange hosted by the very lovely Chantelle. It is an international gift swap and has over 300 people taking part from all over the world. It's MASSIVE!!

It has also opened my eyes somewhat to the lack of appreciation shown by some of the people taking part...

An Update on My Mum...

As some of you may know my Mum has Non Hodgkins Lymphoma which affected her bone marrow. This causes a problem with her blood count and has made her seriously anaemic at times. She started having Chemotherapy early this year and we were all very worried, not knowing how it would affect her or how she would cope with it all. We need not have worried.

Stuck on You Give Away Results!

Firstly, HUGE apologies for this post being a little later than planned. My boys decided that they would stay up until 11.30pm just to prove they could do it. No amount of encouragement could persuade them otherwise either! So, on to the important part of the post....

Who Do You Admire?

I have been thinking a lot lately about the sort of things I want to concentrate my time on. I get very little time to myself so I want to be a bit more careful how I spend it. There are so many things I want to do and learn that it's hard to choose sometimes.

Lucky?

What are you doing tonight? Watching to see who gets voted off the Xfactor? Helping kids with last minute homework they "forgot" they had or looking for rugby socks? Trying to iron your work clothes for tomorrow  as the only top and trousers you have left don't "go". Whatever it is you're doing, just stop. Stop for a second and look around at the people with you. Listen to the familiar noises your house makes. Comforting isn't it?

Reasons to be Cheerful

Well, who would have thought we can find so many cheerful things with the pouring rain, howling winds and the darkened nights. My first thought about writing this post was "Yeah, right! Like there is anything to be cheerful about right now." Then I felt like an old miser so sat down determined to think of something. Here is my list for this week.

Raindrops

I have removed my other blog so I have space to put more photos on this blog (it's a Google thing). It has been pouring with rain here for the last few days. It has been miserable. Today, I had a flash of inspiration and got my camera out. I was quite pleased with the results too. I would love to hear what you think.

Chaos Update

Reasons to be Cheerful

Thursday again already?! These days are certainly flying by. I am hearing the 'C' word uttered more and more often recently. I suppose it is less than 6 weeks away now, EEEEEEKK!

Scared of Success

I was sitting at the table the other morning feeding Squish and thinking about how things were going in the house and what I could do to help things along. We are a little financially challenged at the moment, to say the least, so I was thinking about what sort of job I could get. That's when it hit me.

Bigs Questions and Answers

I asked my eldest son some questions about me and our home life. Not one to let me down, he has been really honest. Unfortunately, due to the constant needs of the little ones, Big doesn't get as much time or attention as he used to. I feel awful about this and am constantly trying to think of ways around it. I find that he is spending more and more time in his room on the xbox, at his Dads or round his mates houses. I feel like I barely see him and that is really upsetting. I feel like I am failing him as he disappears in to Tweenagedom.
Reading his answers are a harsh reminder of the situation. I wish I could be the Mum he wants and deserves before I run out of time. I hope he realises how much I love him too.

10 on 10 for November

I am sooo flippin' chuffed that I remembered to take my pictures today! I get quite annoyed with myself when I miss the monthly linkys as they are such great fun to do. I tweeted a reminder to other folk as forgetful as me and introduced two lovely ladies so I can't wait to read about their days.

Shocking Behaviour

I have thought about writing this post for a while now as it is driving me crazy. It's Chaos. His behaviour is growing ever more shocking and I'm not quite sure what to do about it. He seems to be getting more and more out of control and I don't really know how to turn the situation around. I am writing in the hope that some of you out there can point me in the right direction or give me some tips that have helped your little monsters.
