Frankenstorm Sandy

I have spent some time today reading and looking at photos of the devastation Hurricane Sandy has caused. Once again we are reminded of how small we really are. The force of nature is unbeatable.
Although this storm has had a devastating affect on everyone and everything in it's path, I can't help but be slightly in awe of it's power.

10 Things To Smile About - October

The end of October already. I can't believe it! Where has this year gone?? This month has been quite a whirlwind of activity so I shall try to pick out the happy highlights to share with you all.

Mug Swapperooo

The very lovely Hannah, the one and only Cupcake Mumma, organised a Mug Swap this month. Having enjoyed the last one I did so much, I jumped at the chance to join in with another one and signed straight up.
The idea is to be paired up with someone you don't know, have a look through their blog finding out more about them. Then find them a mug you think they will like. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful.

10 Things You Didn't Know About Sleep Deprevation

At some point or another we have all suffered with lack of sleep. It isn't too bad to cope with for a couple of days but what happens if sleep loss continues for a longer period of time? If you are faced with a child that doesn't sleep for long or work hours that start to clash with your home life? Unavoidable situations that you can't escape.

Letters

When I was a kid, we had no choice about manners. If you didn't say please or thank you, you didn't get it. It was that simple. That went with everything and everyone!

Another thing we had to do was write a thank you letter to everyone we received a birthday or Christmas present from. I'll be honest, I did find it a bit of a chore at the time but I totally agree my parents for making me write them. I still write them now and I expect my eldest to do the same. I realise that all families have different ways but I still say you can't beat a letter in the post.

Marriage

I have to be honest with you, I never wanted to get married. I thought it was vastly over rated. I also didn't  think I would find someone I liked enough to spend  an entire summer with let alone the rest of my life! I loved my single, free-spirited life. Being able to go where ever I wanted, whenever I felt like it. Selfish? Maybe, but not selfish enough to expect someone else to tolerate my carefree ways. Well, that was then.

Fish and Chip Babies

Yes, you read that right. Fish and Chip babies. This is the name given to babies born to such extreme poverty in Africa that they leave hospital newborn wrapped in nothing but a newspaper. That is all they have.  Remember the day you gave birth to your little angel? Imagine if all you had to wrap them in was a few sheets of paper. That was all that would protect them from the cold, the rain and certain illnesses. How desperate would you feel?

An Autumnal Feel

Following on from yesterdays post, I am feeling positive about the future and all that it holds. My current situation has run its course and I can feel the end approaching. I am not sure what will happen but I am fully ready for it. That can mean only one thing, true Yazz style - The only way is up, baybeeeee!

I Am a Mum and a......

Over at Story of Mum this month, the subject is remembering your identity. Other than being a Mum, what or rather who, are you? As being a parent is such a consuming task, with every decision being made around someone else, it is hard to remember who we actually are. I was asked what I like to do in my spare time the other day. Firstly, I thought "Ha, spare time?! If only!" Then I thought about it more seriously. What do I like to do? If I had a whole day to myself, what would I spend it doing? The answer? I have absolutely no idea.
I am so entrenched in my daily trundle, that it takes an enormous effort to think outside the rut. It's hardly likely to happen anyway so why waste time thinking about it when I could be deliberating on what to have for tea....

Sleep?? - Pah, Who Needs It?!

I don't know about you but, having two babies a year apart has totally blitzed my ability to sleep. I have trouble sleeping deeply, for over 4 hours at a time, I struggle to get back to sleep if I'm woken and I can't get enough of the damn stuff! I wake up every day feeling exactly the same as I did when I went to bed - Knackered!!

The Jingly, Jangly Jungle Party

As some of you may have been aware, it was my little mans birthday on Sunday and he was 2. I know, crazy isn't it? Two years ago I was in the worst agony of my life, for a whole day with no pain relief (in hospital!). I'd love to say it's been plain sailing since, but it hasn't. Not by a long shot!

Yes, it's me! I'm back - Huzzah!! I have missed you all. Only a week?? What do you mean? I'm sure it's been, like, forever! Here is my first post of revamped splendor. I suppose I should give you all an explanation really.

Kat Sighs... For The Last Time

It is with sadness that I sit here to write my last post on Kat Sighs. I never thought I would become so attached to my little blog and love writing it so much. I have a feeling this post could be quite an emotional one. I hear you asking "If that is the case then why leave?" Grab a cuppa, pull up a chair and I'll tell you...

Cha Cha Cha Changes....

Dear....

I haven't heard from someone in a while so I thought I'd write them a letter...
